Growing up in the Chicago suburbs, his love for the game was ignited by his grandfather, Louis Spataro, and a memorable first visit to a Cubs game in 1966. Meeting announcers Vince Lloyd, Lloyd Pettit, and Lou Boudreau sparked a lifelong passion for baseball and its rich history.<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by the careers of legends like Tommy John, Buck O\u2019Neil, and Ron Santo, David has dedicated himself to preserving and celebrating the sport. As a die-hard fan, he was motivated to advocate for revising the Hall of Fame selection process after seeing his heroes posthumously elected.
